Cultural Commissioning - programme

The Cultural Commissioning Programme is working to strengthen the environment for cultural commissioning.

Based on extensive research into opportunities for arts and cultural organisations to engage with public service commissioning and diversify their income, their programme of support is now being launched.  From 2014 to 2016, they will work with arts organisations, museums and libraries, and with commissioners, to build knowledge, skills and understanding, and to bring these sectors together.

The Cultural Commissioning Learning Programme is one of their first programmes of support.  It will help arts and cultural organisations use their creativity and innovative flair to engage in public service commissioning, win contracts and deliver great outcomes.  Read about the full programme.

It is aimed at middle and senior managers in arts organisations, museums and library services, including those responsible for developing new funding streams and winning contracts.

The first dates and venues are listed below.  Over the coming weeks, further dates in other parts of England will be announced.

Arts Council England’s support means that the programme is competitively priced, with a further discount if you book now for both phases, to help you get maximum benefit.  This means that the 4 day programme is just £240 (£160 for organisations with annual turnover less than £25,000).

Book now to secure your place.

Phase 1: 2-day programme to raise awareness, knowledge and the skills needed to enable you to understand and prepare to engage in commissioning, 10th & 11th July 2014, delivered by Linden Rowley - Northern Stage, Newcastle upon Tyne

The Cultural Commissioning Programme is a three-year programme from July 2013 to June 2016, funded by Arts Council England, and delivered by NCVO, NPC and nef.
