Can the University of Brighton help your organisation with consultancy/research resources?

The University of Brighton, the Brighton Business School now has a module that aims to help final year students develop their employability and consultancy skills through the completion of a business/consultancy project. A smaller version of this module ran very successfully in 2016 and they are now delighted to offer this opportunity to their community organisation and public sector partners. Community organisations are increasingly under pressure to find new creative ways of addressing need, designing services, fundraising and strategizing but often don’t have the time to do this – their students might be able to help you.
Students will be working in small groups of 2-5 to go in to an organisation to consult on a project for 30hrs per student in total. The timing of the project can be quite flexible but should generally be available from December ‘18/January ’19 to March/April ‘19.
Does your organisation need a plan researched and created (business plan, fundraising, marketing plan) or do you need help to implement and evaluate a current project? Or maybe help with social media and social purpose marketing? The students are fully supported to deliver a project by the module tutors and by Active Student.
Previous successful projects have included:

  • Creating a business plan for an organisation that had recently become a charity (from a community group) – the business plan the students created helped the organisation gain a year’s funding for their local project.
  • Creating a fundraising plan for a local community group
  • Creating a marketing plan and social media engagement plan for a public sector body.

Does this fit with your current needs? Could you use some specialised help with your plans? If the answer is “absolutely, yes please”, do contact Active Student directly to discuss further on 01273 644145 or by email at

They are keen to provide business/research support to a variety of projects so please do run any ideas by us.
