Museum Networks

The Museums of Surrey Education Group (MuSE)

MuSE is made up of staff from museums in the county who are interested in education and meetings offer an opportunity to meet other museum educationalists in the county.  MuSE is keen to encourage interested parties from outside the museums sector to join the group.

SEWS Facilities Managers Forum

The Museum Facilities Managers Forum is a peer-to-peer learning group exclusively for facilities managers of museums and galleries to:

Share experiences of energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, security, maintenance and other facilities management issues and solutions Visit other organisations’ sites to see first hand projects implemented and technologies installed Gain ideas for initiatives to undertake and input from peers on projects in development Share recommendations for suppliers, finance models and potential funding schemes.

The forum is free to join and meetings free to attend, funded by the South East Museum Develop Programme and co-ordinated by the Sustainable Business Partnership CIC.

The Surrey Museums Consultative Committee (SMCC)

SMCC is an umbrella organisation working on behalf of museums in Surrey through a partnership with the district and borough councils of Surrey and Surrey County Council (via Surrey Heritage). 

The Sussex Museums Group (SxMG)

Sussex Museums Group is a cultural community dedicated to promoting, supporting and connecting museums and galleries in Sussex. The Group aims to promote excellence of all levels in Sussex museums, to provide a forum for Members to debate museum and gallery issues, and to ensure that Sussex museums have a voice in the cultural community.
