Kent & Medway Museums Partnership (KMMP)
The Kent & Medway Museum Partnership (KMMP) provides a forum for exchange of information, shared learning and discussion between the museums in Kent & Medway.
Its role is:
- Maintaining a joined up network of museum professionals across Kent & Medway
- Developing partnerships and projects within the group and with other organisations where appropriate
- Advising and assisting the progress of Museum Development initiatives as funded by Arts Council England, (see page 3 for more information on this element)
- Providing guidance on key local and sector needs
- Offering expertise, support and advice to members and the wider museum community where possible
- Coordinating lobbying actions on key issues on behalf of the wider museum community
- Sharing and disseminating the information and lessons learned from members' work with each other and the wider museums sector
- Assist in the shaping of the development of sector priorities through providing consultation and advice
- Undertaking training/CPD opportunities that the group see beneficial to their work

- Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery
- Representative from the Kent Museum Mentors Network (KMMN) if appropriate
- Representative from the Kent & Medway Learning and Access Group (KMLAG) if appropriate
- Any other person(s) that the group would like to invite on occasion.
Frequency:
The KMMP will meet four times a year, at quarterly intervals.
Location:
The meeting location will move around the member venues in turn, or be held at a mutually convenient or central location.
Expenses:
No money to cover travel, or any other expenses, is available via the group. However, costs under exceptional circumstances may be met through the Museum Development operational budget.
Chairing and Secretariat:
The meetings are chaired by the Preservation & Education Director of The Historic Dockyard, Chatham. The Chair has authority to schedule additional meetings as deemed appropriate. Secretariat functions will be provided by the MDO.
Reporting:
The MDO, in liaison with the Preservation & Education Director, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham are responsible for preparing the agenda and briefing papers, and circulating them a week in advance of scheduled meetings.
Minutes of meetings will be formally recorded and circulated to all KMMP members within 14 working days of the meeting.
Quorum:
As a minimum the quorum shall be two members plus the Chair and MDO.
