Offer of Museum Objects
Like all museums, we occasionally remove objects from the collection. We undertook a grant funded project to go through our collection and determine if the objects in our collection we relevant to our collecting policy. The objects have undergone an evaluation based on the Museum’s Collection Development Policy, this is based on the significance to the people of Crawley and West Sussex, whether it can be used by the museum for display, education or handling, and whether we already hold examples of the item. We have determined many objects do not fall within our collecting policy and therefore are seeking new homes for these items. If you are interested please contact the Crawley Museum for further details.Posted by: Carli-Lyn Vermani

Industrial and Agricultural collections for disposal
Milton Keynes Museum is currently undertaking a large review of its collection, starting with larger agricultural and industrial items which are currently stored outside. It includes a wide range of items, a lot are in poor condition and many have poor provenance. I have hopefully attached a full list of the items for disposal (subject to board approval) but last time I tried to attach something I failed... The list is available through the MA find an object site. If you are interested in anything I am happy to send photos or you are welcome to visit and have a look. There are more items which have yet to be listed which may relate to some of these items. Any queries please don't hesitate to ask.Posted by: Sarah Chard-Cooper

Display cases
I have 3 wall mounted display cases that are no longer needed. They would also work well (possibly better) as table top cases. The glass is unlikely to be safety glass. 2 (1 of which I have hopefully attached a photo of) are from 22cm to 12.5 cm deep; c.76cm wide and 231cm long. The other is 22.9-15.5cm deep; 69 cm wide and 173.5cm long

Free desktop display case
We have a display case free to a good home. Desktop style, quite modern. Measurements are: Length = 160cm Depth = 59cm Height = 111cm The lid does have a lock but we no longer have the key. Replacing the lock should be possible. The light inside could also do with an electrician looking at it. We have used the case without a lock in an area where it can be watched by staff, or to contain non-collections items when it isn't visible at all times. The lid is heavy and takes at least 2 people to lift, so theft is only an issue for the determined criminal! We need it gone asap, so please do get in touch if you can offer it a good home.

Exhibitions for Loan from Bucks County Museum Trust
“We have an amazing variety of stuff in the County Collection and the new Trustees are keen for it to be got out on display as much as possible. Contact us for the list of exhibition material (for the cost of petrol only) to be installed with you if you have suitable cases – or we may exceptionally be able to bring one or two with us if that is needed. Display standards may not be tip top but we have lots of good stuff and some of the shows already have good quality graphic support. The further way from Aylesbury the better as far as we are concerned – please don’t be shy about trying to bag some! “

Fire Warden Training - any interest?
Hi, We are thinking about organising some fire warden training. It would be delivered by the trading arm of Hampshire Fire and Rescue at our museum (Bursledon Brickworks in Swanwick, between Southampton and Fareham). There can be up to 12 delegates but we don't need that many spaces so we are interested to hear from any other museums who would like to share! It would work out at £48 per person, provided we can get 12 people. We would organise it to take place over the summer, probably on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please let me know if you are interested. Many thanksPosted by: Mary Flinn
